The affected chips are critical components for electronic control units and could significantly impact global production of member companies including Toyota and Honda.
Industry analysis suggests the Dutch company is likely Nexperia, which recently faced government intervention in its operations. Volkswagen has also confirmed using Nexperia components, acknowledging that while current production remains unaffected, future supply disruptions cannot be ruled out.
