SK Keyfoundry acquires SK Powertech to expand SiC power semiconductor production capacity

CINNO Research Industry News – SK Keyfoundry announced at its March 7 board meeting that it has successfully reached an agreement to acquire a 98.59% stake in SK Powertech, a subsidiary of SK Group, for KRW 25 billion.


SK Keyfoundry stated that the acquisition aims to accelerate its competitiveness in the power semiconductor sector. The company emphasized, "This strategic equity acquisition will significantly strengthen our competitiveness in the next-generation compound semiconductor business." It further explained, "By combining our expertise in large-scale semiconductor production with SK Powertech’s deep technological capabilities in silicon carbide (SiC)-based power semiconductor solutions, the two parties will achieve substantial synergies."
